Medicham is probably one of the most used Pokémon in Pokémon Go for the Great and Ultra League. You can also encounter Medicham in three-star raids if you find one in the rotation. How to fight it in the Battle League, a Medicham raid is pretty difficult. In this guide we will cover all Medicham's weaknesses and the best Pokémon to counter it in Pokémon Go.
All Medicham's weak points
Medicham is a Fighting and Psychic type Pokémon. It is weak against Fairy, Flying, and Ghost-type moves, but is resistant to Fighting and Rock-type attacks. We highly recommend using a Pokémon experienced in Fairy, Flying, and Ghost-type moves to take it down effectively.
The best Pokémon to counter Medicham
The best Pokémon to counter Medicham in three-star raids will be Chandelure, Gardevoir, and Gengar.
Chandelure is a Fire and Ghost type Pokémon. We have recommended it against several Psychic-type Pokémon for raids. It is a sturdy Pokémon with a good amount of attack power and defense capabilities, crowned with a superb set of moves to take advantage of these stats. The best move set to give Chandelure is the quick incinerate move, and the charged moves darken the ball and overheat.
For your next option, consider using the Fairy and Psychic type, Gardevoir. Although Gardevoir's overall health is a bit low, she has a fair amount of defense and attack power to compensate for it, with plenty of psychic attacks to do in Medicham. However, she tries to avoid using Fairy-type moves. The best move set to give Gardevoir is the Quick Confusion move, and the Shadow Ball and Synchronous Charged Moves.
The last Pokémon you want to consider using is Gengar, a Ghost and Poison type. Gengar is much more of a glass cannon than the other two options. While it can do a significant amount of damage against Medicham, you can expect it won't last too long. Therefore, you will want to have more solid options in your squad during this raid battle. The best move set to give to Gengar is the Shadow Claw fast move, and the Shadow Ball and Shadow Punch moves.
You will need to use a full team of six Pokémon against Medicham. These are some additional choices you can choose to add to your squad.
After defeating Medicham you will have a chance to catch one for yourself. You can't catch a bright version at the end of this bout.
