The Mountains of Power event has arrived in Pokémon Go, allowing you to catch several Pokémon that typically appear in the mountains. During the event, you will find different types of Earth, Rock and Steel, and the bright version of Slugma becomes available for the rest of the game. A handful of Pokémon encounters that you earn as rewards for completing exclusive research tasks during this event. These are all the Power Mountain Field Research activities and rewards you can earn in Pokémon Go.
The Mountains of Power event will run from January 7-13 and will end at 20pm in your local time zone. All field research activities for the event can be acquired through Poké Stops. But when you turn these dials, there is a random chance of which one you will receive. So it is not guaranteed that you will receive them as a task.
These are all the Power Mountain Field Research tasks and rewards you can earn.
- Earn 2 candies walking with your friend - Mawile Encounter
- Hatch an Egg - Alolan Geodude Encounter
- Walk 1km - Slugma meeting
Among the options, Walk 1km and Hatch an Egg are probably the best because they offer the best rewards, Alolan Geodude and Slugma. Typically, Alola Geodude only appears as a raid encounter, so not having to use a Raid Pass to catch one is a welcome sight. This event is the first time that the glossy version of Slugma is available, so the more Slugma encounters you can acquire, the better your chances of catching a glossy version.
