Pokémon Go has many new events coming out for trainers eager to continue their journey into the game in May. To celebrate 20 years of the Pokémon franchise, they are bringing Throwback Challenges for 2020, focusing on the first four regions featured in the games, namely Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. During each of these weekly challenges, Pokémon from these regions are receiving brilliant versions.
The Shining Pokémon available during these events are as follows:
- Shiny Venonat: Kanto Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 1st at 13pm to May 00th at 8pm
- Shiny Dunsparce: Johto Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 8 at 13pm to May 00 at 15pm
- Shiny Skitty: Hoenn Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 15th at 13pm to May 00nd at 22pm
- Shiny Glameow: Sinnoh Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 22 at 13pm to May 00 at 29pm
Shiny versions of these Pokémon will be released at the start of the Throwback Challenge 2020 event times for their respective regions. You can find them all in the wild like you would any other Pokémon, but you won't know if they're bright until you click on them to try and catch them.
It will be easier to catch more of these Pokémon because the events of Throwback Challenge have increased the generation of Pokémon that have appeared in that region. You can expect to see more Venonats during the Kanto Throwback Challenge from May 1st to May 8th. If you're looking to add the bright version of Venonat to your collection, try using event lure to increase your chances of luring them to your location. Lures will not have powerups for this event, but they should last a full hour.
All of these Pokémon are also available as rewards for hatching 7 kilometer eggs. You can reach out to your friends to send you more gifts, potentially landing more friends exclusive 7km eggs.
There are many ways to get these Shiny Pokémon during the May 2020 Throwback Challenge events. Make sure you have enough PokéBalls in your inventory to increase the chances of adding more Shiny Pokémon to your collection.
