Unless you've lived under a rock, you won't have missed the release of Call of Duty: Warzone on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The brand new free Call of Duty Battle Royale is finally out, but not on Steam. Is there a Call of Duty: Warzone Steam release date?
At the time of writing, you cannot download and play Call of Duty: Warzone on Steam. This, of course, will be annoying for those of you who have created a CoD friends list on the platform over the years. Despite the fact that the new battle royale game isn't on Steam right now, we may be playing it on Valve's PC gaming platform in the future.

Just because Warzone isn't on Steam right now doesn't mean it will never be released on the platform. There are tons of free-to-play games available on Steam and there is apparently no real reason why Call of Duty: Warzone can't be one of them. Before hoping, it's worth noting that neither Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 or Modern Warfare (2019) is available on Steam.
Warzone is tied to the world of Modern Warfare and is a separate mode for its owner. Given that Modern Warfare isn't available on Steam, it might be bad news for those of us waiting for a Call of Duty: Warzone Steam release date. For now, you'll have to make do with playing CoD: Warzone on PC via Activision Bora Launching Battle.net, as we explain in this guide.
While it may seem unlikely that Warzone will be out on Steam right now, it could happen in the future. Never say never and all. For now, though, you'll need to play through the Battle.net launcher on PC.
