Establishing a home is one of the fundamental goals in Minecraft. A sturdy building not only provides shelter and a place to store your items, but helps protect you from monsters and other mob creatures. The houses can also be customized with some decorative blocks, including terracotta. This baked material offers excellent explosion resistance and a fun way to liven up your home base. How to make terracotta in Minecraft
You can make terracotta in Minecraft using the furnace as a foundry. The only ingredient required is a clay block, which can be melted into a hardened clay block. Once worked, the terracotta can be dyed in the color of your choice.
The process couldn't be much simpler. You will need a furnace, of course, as well as a fuel source such as coal. After that you will need some clay blocks, similar to those that can be found around water throughout the desert biome.
Assuming you have those ingredients on hand, the rest is easy. Place the clay block in the furnace and wait until it is completely cooked. When finished, you will be left with a terracotta block. If you dye it and then cook it again, you'll end up with glazed earthenware.
If this seems like a familiar procedure, it's because it's basically the same as making bricks. Brick, like terra cotta, is a hardened form of clay used in construction. The main difference is that, unlike bricks, the color and pattern of the terracotta can be changed with dye. For this to work, simply visit the crafting menu, place a terra cotta ring around the outside, then place your dye object in the center.
Like bricks, terra cotta blocks have high strength and explosion resistance. They are a good option for building more permanent structures in Minecraft, especially those threatened by Creeper attacks. Just remember to retrieve them with the pickaxe or you risk destroying them completely.
