The first trailers for Pokémon Legends: Arceus anticipated the existence of Noble Pokémon, but the vast world of the ancient region of Hisui allows for even more variation in the types of Pokémon you will encounter. Different types of Pokémon will act differently when they see you approaching and, even within the same species, there are alpha Pokémon that will stand out from the pack in skill and behavior.
Alpha Pokémon will be scattered across the wild as the player completes his Survey Corps missions through the Hisui region. Alphas are easily distinguished from other members of their species - they are much larger and have bright red eyes. The aura around the glowing eyes is distinguishable even if the Pokémon has its back turned towards you, which helps the player pay attention as it approaches them.
Alpha Pokémon are particularly aggressive and strong. As particularly strong Pokémon in previous games, they are very difficult to catch. Putting an alpha into your team will require not only a suitably powerful group Pokémon, but a battle strategy that makes the most of the game's unique Strong Style and Agile Style moves. Note that alpha Pokémon can also use Strong Style and Agile Style moves.
