In your local time zone, Mega Aerodactyl raids will start spawning on January 7, 2022, likely at 10am. A handful of time zones may occur and have Mega Aerodactyl raids displayed before this, so if you have friends in these places sending you raid invitations, you may be able to catch it a little earlier this time. We recommend that you bring a handful of trainers with you if you want to defeat Mega Aerodactyl. Similar to five-star raids, Mega Raids are relatively complicated and you may need a friend or two to beat them.
After defeating Mega Aerodactyl, you will have the option to capture a standard Aerodactyl to add to your collection. Furthermore, there is a possibility that this could be a shiny version of this Pokémon. Each time you defeat Mega Aerodactyl in a raid, you will receive a small amount of Mega Aerodactyl candy that you can use to evolve your Aerodactyl into its mega evolution.
