When can you get Zacian in Pokemon Go?

A whole round of new Pokémon is coming to Pokémon Go during the Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event. The event will start on August 20th at 10am in your local time zone. When it does, portals will open all over the world with these Pokémon from the Galar region. One notable Pokémon that will appear during the event will be Zacian in his Hero form of many battles. When can you get Zacian and how do you get it in Pokémon Go?

Zacian is a Legendary Pokémon and that means you can only catch it during the five-star raids that appear in Gyms. Of course, you won't always get a five-star raid on every gym that becomes one, but when you see a five-star egg waiting to hatch during the Ultra Unlock Part 3 event, it'll be Zacian. However, the other Legendary Pokémon Zamazenta will appear during the second half of the event.

Zacian will only appear in five-star raids August 20-26. Once this trade takes place, Zamazenta in its Hero of Many Battles form will trade from any potential five-star raid site. You want to make sure you jump on the first five-star raids to catch Zacian before he disappears.

If you have a hard time finding Zacian, take a short walk around your neighborhood, where you can find several gyms. Some of these are set to upgrade to a five-star raid during the event, and all raids are guaranteed five-star during the August 25 Raid Hour event from 18pm to 00pm local time. You can always contact other instructors to join a Zacian Raid using a Remote Raid Pass.
