Where to find and catch Steel-type Pokémon in Pokémon Go

Pokémon spawn around you as you roam the real world and have the Pokémon Go app running. These random Pokémon vary in type, and some are more likely to appear depending on your location in the real world. For example, if you travel to a forest, you may find grass, insect, and rock types more often than water types.

For those looking for a Steel-type Pokémon, you may have a little more trouble than the more common Pokémon. Steel grades can typically be found roaming the middle of some cities, closer to larger factories or event centers. Some players may have better luck checking in the vicinity of any train or railroad station.

Steel-type Pokémon come out more often during a particular time of day, so there's no need to wait for dusk or the end of the day like you might for Ghost types.

There are only a handful of Steel-type Pokémon in the game, which makes them a little more difficult to catch. An alternative to looking for them directly in the wild is to visit a PokéStop and place a magnetic bait. The Magnetic Lure will attract Steel, Electric, and Rock-type Pokémon to your location for a set amount of time. It should increase your chances of catching a type of Steel, but due to the other Pokémon it attracts, it's not a 100% guaranteed method.

The more time you spend walking around a city, your chances increase of spotting a Steel-type wandering around a larger building. You can always check the bottom right corner of the Pokémon Go app to see if any type of Steel is roaming specific PokéStop locations near you.
