The Mountains of Power event has arrived in Pokémon Go, and with it comes an exclusive timed research project for all players. You can receive this series of timed research activities by logging into the Pokémon Go app during the event period, January 7-13 in your local time zone. These are all the timed research activities and rewards of Mountains of Power that you will receive in Pokémon Go.
If you don't complete the timed research within the event period, you will lose any potential rewards you may have worked on. Make sure you get it all done before the Mountains of Power end on January 13th at 20pm in your local time zone. The tasks for this timed quest are fairly short, but several rewards for Pokémon encounters are always a plus.

Task 1
- Catch 5 Pokémon - Encounter with Slugma
- Earn 2 candies walking with your friend - Encounter with Ferroseed
- Hatch an Egg - Alolan Geodude Encounter
Rewards: 1.000 Stardust, 10 Large Balls, and a match with Absol
Task 2
- Catch 6 different Pokémon species - Encounter with Absol
- Earn 2 candies walking with your friend - Encounter with Onix
- Hatch 2 Eggs - Encounter with Beldum
Rewards: 2.000 Stardust, 10 Ultra Balls, and a Mawile encounter
