Good news for Generation I fans, as Charmander can be found in Pokemon Sword and Shield. If you are wondering how to get your hands on this particular type of Fire, it is much easier than you think. This guide will contain some spoilers, and while they may be obvious, I'm still giving this warning because that's just the nice thing to do. Read on at your own risk.
How to get Charmander in Pokemon Sword and Shield
The guaranteed way to get your hands on Charmander is to play through the story. After battling and defeating Leon, you will automatically be returned to Postwick. Go down the road to Hop's house, then enter Leon's bedroom.
On the floor in the middle of the room, you'll find a Poke Ball which contains Charmander. This Charmander can't be a Shiny, so there's no need to try to save nosy this part.
If you're lucky, you may come across a Charmander before this while taking part in Max Raid Battles. The chance of this happening is pretty slim, so thankfully, you can grab the guaranteed Charmander at the end of the story. You can evolve Charmander into Charmeleon at level 16 and then evolve Charmeleon into Charizard at level 36.
