Beating the Elite Four and becoming the next Pokemon champion has never been the only goal of Pokemon games - you'll also want to catch all the Pokemon that fill your Pokedex, and Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl are no different. You can normally find Pokemon all over the world, either by using certain items or by trading version-exclusive Pokemon. However, some Pokemon require a special method to evolve. Electivire is one such Pokemon, so let's get into the process.

To evolve your Electabuzz into Electivire, you'll need to get your hands on an Electirizer. Getting an energiser is a bit difficult and it depends on the case; it's also an item found on a Brilliant Diamond-exclusive Pokemon, so Shining Pearl players will have to trade to get the item or the entire Elekid evolutionary line.
Give your Electabuzz an energizer as a held item once you get one. The next step requires the work of a friend you trust. Start a trade with your friend and send your Electabuzz while holding the Electirizer to start the evolution. To make the process beneficial for both parties, it's a good idea to trade with a friend who has Shining Pearl who will help both of you fill out your Pokedex at the same time. Ask your friend to return your Electivire and your Pokedex will be one step closer to completion.
