A new month in Pokémon Go means there's a new Research Breakthrough event that focuses on a new Pokémon. For May 2020, you can try to earn weekly stamps to earn the chance to catch Shinx.
Earn the stamps for the revolutionary Pokémon of research, you must complete the research tasks of PokéStop. You can only keep three a day, but you only need to do one every day to earn a stamp. At the end of seven days, you receive a guaranteed encounter with Shinx.
Shinx is an electric type Pokémon. It is the first evolved form of Luxray, which is also an electric type Pokémon. Shinx's final form has a maximum CP of 2.888, an attack of 232, a defense of 156, and a stamina of 190. The only weakness is that of Ground-type attacks, and is resistant to Electric, Flying and Steel.
It's a decent Pokémon to add to your collection, giving players the chance to catch this decent Pokémon that could do well in both the Grand League in its secondary evolved form, Luxio, and Ultra League with Luxray. For each Shinx you catch through a Breakthrough Research encounter, you earn more candy than you traditionally would catch Pokémon in the wild.
Pokémon Finding Breakthrough encounters begin on May 1st and will continue until June 1st.
