A unique Pokémon in which you can find Pokémon Sword and Shield is called Type: Null. It is a normal-type Pokémon that resembles a dog, but with a massive muzzle wrapped around its face. Fortunately, this Pokémon isn't hard to find.
To access this Pokémon, you must have beaten the game and entered the Hall of Fame. After seeing the credit roll, you have access to the rest of the game. You have to go back to the Battle Tower and when you enter the facility, look to the left of the establishment. There is a generic trainer in a black and white uniform standing next to a Type: Null. He starts talking to them and eventually they will hand you their Pokémon as a form of celebration to commemorate your accomplishments. You get it at level 50.
You will also receive a series of memories and these memories determine which type its evolutionary form, Silvally, will have when it evolves. To have a specific type, you need to have it in specific memory.
Now, to evolve Type: Null into a Silvally, you need to increase its friendship with you. Thankfully, Pokémon Sword and Shield have many methods on how to proceed.
- Keep it with you in your party while you travel
- Play around with it for a while
- Make it Curry
- Make him win in battle
- Give him some special berries
- Carry it with you your Soothe Bell
Playing Type: Null on the court and feeding him curry is an excellent way to quickly increase his friendship levels with you. You can also go talk to the friendship controller in Hammerlocke to double check your progress. When you feel you are ready to evolve, choose the type of memory it contains.
You should have one of all types in your inventory. Give one of them to Type: Null, and when it levels up to its maximum happiness, the Silvally should be the same type of Memory disc you gave it.
