Using a text editor, open the "proto.xml" file in the "data" directory, which is located in the folder where you installed the game.
Note: by right clicking on the "proto.xml" file, go to Properties and if there is a check on "Read Only" you have to remove it, otherwise you cannot edit the file.
Once the file is open, look for the text "CrateOf". You will find CrateofFood, CrateofCoin, CrateofWood, CrateofFoodLarge, CrafteofCoinLarge and CrateofWoodLarge. In all these options, find the "InitialResourceCount" tag and change the calculation to what you want, from 100 to 99999.000
Easily level
Open the sp_yourcityname_homecity.xml file in the saved games folder (Age of Empires 3Savegame), without forgetting to make a backup copy of the file first, search for.
You will see something like xx, put the number 99 in place of xx, save the file, enter the game and play the skirmish.
Your level is now 99!
Invincible units
Go to the folder that contains all the AOE 3 material and open the folder called Data. With the right mouse button go to the "proto.xml" file, go to "Open with" and choose Notepad. Press CTRL and F. Type the name of the Unit you want to find.
Scroll down until you see all kinds of things starting with Flag sandwiched between the "<" and ">" signs. Anywhere in the area make a new column and press CTRL and TAB twice. Write:
Invulnerable
and in another line write:
DoNotDieAtZeroHitpoints
Press Enter and enter the following codes:
X marks the spot
Reveal the map
Give me liberty or give me coin
Get 10.000 coins
Medium Rare Please
Get 10.000 of food
Nova & Orion
Earn 10.000 XP
this is too hard
