Minecraft spells can be crafted using an enchanting table and are the way you create magical armor, weapons and tools in Minecraft. There is a significant wager associated with spells in Minecraft, as there is no way of knowing what the charming table will spit when you're done. You could end up wasting a perfectly good diamond sword, or you could slip it into the Aspect of Fire spell so that it also deals burn damage with each hit.
As you can probably tell, Minecraft spells are very powerful and you will want to amass as many of them as possible to have the best chance of surviving in this cruel and blocky world. To compensate for their extraordinary power, getting to the stage where you can build and use a lovely Minecraft is no small feat, and there are many steps involved in creating a weapon with a decent spell.

What enchants Minecraft?
If you've reached the point where you have everything you need to survive in Minecraft but feel like you may be getting more and more powerful you may want to get yourself a lovely table. These special blocks can grant powerful (and weird) magical abilities to your weapons and armor, but you can't guarantee what effect you'll end up with.
What Minecraft items can you enchant?
Spells can be applied to a huge number of objects in Minecraft, but the wide range of object categories you can enchant in Minecraft are as follows: armor, tools, weapons, and books.
How to enchant items in Minecraft
There are three main ways to enchant items in Minecraft.
- Go to an enchanting Minecraft table and swap XP and Lapis Lazuli to charm an item.
- In an anvil, combine an enchanted book with an unenchanted item - use XP.
- In an anvil, combine two enchanted objects to create an object with two spells.
Alternatively, you can get enchanted items from time to time by trading emeralds with villagers. There is also a chance to find an enchanted item while fishing, or as a drop from killing a zombie, drowned, pig zombie, husk, stray, withered skeleton or skeleton. Enchanted items can also be looted in the final city.
If you play on Bedrock Edition, you can get enchanted items by killing looters and avenging enemies during a raid.
If you really don't want any hassle, you can use the Minecraft console commands and tricks to get the job done.
How to build a lovely Minecraft table
You will need four obsidians, two diamonds, and a book to build an enchantment table in Minecraft. Open your crafting menu and arrange three obsidians along the bottom row with a fourth in the center of the grid. Place the diamonds on either side of the protruding obsidian and finish by placing the book in the middle of the top row. A lovely table should now appear on the right, so drag and drop this into your inventory and that's it.
How to use your lovely table
Once positioned, go further and interact with the lovely table. This will open a new interface. On the left you can enter a certain number of lapis lazuli and the item you want to enchant, then on the right you will see some scriptures that signal your choice of randomly rolled spells: hover over one of the glyphs and it will give you a clue to one of the possible spells.
How to get better Minecraft spells
Minecraft spells will generally be much higher the higher your experience level, so don't expect the best spells if you manage to make one of these tables early on.
You can also increase your spell level by placing a shelf next to the enchanted table - with a buffer zone of one block. To access the best spells you will need to make a full border for the shelf - 15 in total. The best way to place them is to make a second row of bookshelf blocks if you run out of space.

If you don't have a specific item you want to enchant, you can create an enchanted book, which effectively saves the spell for later use. As for changing spells, there isn't much you can do to manipulate your choices as it is based on your experience level, spell seed, and the type of item you are trying to enchant. You can change the options that are shown to you by reducing the number of shelves connected to the table, but this does not affect the possibilities.
The best way to keep spells to craft an enchanted max weapon is to keep enchanting the books. With the highest level spells available, keep enchanting the books until you have a selection of maximum level spells, then bring the desired item and books into an anvil and match them together.
