Second part: combo system

Jump attack + ground attack (standing or crouching) + special move

The first two parts of the combo are nothing complicated, and often the computer could do them too.
What really defines a combo is what comes after the second hit.
First strike: jump attack
---------------------------------

The system behind the combos is that you hit the opponent with a new move before he has been able to recover from the previous one.
So the first thing you need to do is make sure your jump attack hits the opponent: this way you'll be able to hit the ground and start the new move before he recovers.
Try to aim for the enemy's stomach or chest when timing the first attack, rather than the head.
If it can block the second attack, it means you are aiming too high.

Second and third shot: Buffering
-------------------------------------------

What happens next depends on the type of combo you are performing.
If your second strike is a weak punch or kick, you will have no problem, press the key in question and execute the third attack as quickly as you can.
But if you are playing with the right character and want to deal some additional damage, then you will have to tie up the special attack.

A tied move is a move made in conjunction with the move that precedes it (which must necessarily be a 'normal' strike). When you finish the special technique, the animation of the normal one is cut, and the special one starts immediately.
Due to this, the two hits happen immediately one behind the other, with very little pause, producing a combo.
There are two ways to tie the moves, either with the push-push technique or the push-release technique.
We will use the Dragon Punch to explain how both techniques work.

Rewards-rewards technique
---------------------

This technique is equivalent to doing a small punch + special move combo.
Requires the keys to be pressed twice.
To do this, press your attack button, then perform a special technique immediately after pressing the button.
Act like you haven't even pressed it. If you are fast, the combo will work perfectly.

Remember that the joystick movement must not start until you have pressed the button for the first time.
If your timing is wrong, you will get the same hold you can do with forward + strong punch.
Also remember that only certain attacks can be used as a combo opening, and for example a hard kick would not work in this case.

Technique rewards - release
------------------------

Press the key hard and hold it down, then make the movement to execute the dragon punch and only at the end release the button.
If you take the timing right, you'll get a dragon punch and the combo you want to perform.

Remember that this will give you a strong crouching punch and a dragon punch, while before we got a strong standing punch and a dragon punch.
With a little practice, you will be able to link up to three dragon punches together by pressing the attack button once, but if you time it right, you will get a really lethal combo.

The only disadvantage of this type of technique is that you can use it to tie combos that require the use of the same attack button. Hold-press technique
-----------------------------

In order to perform, for example, a combo consisting of a strong punch and dragon punch performed with a weak punch, you can use the hold-and-press method. With this method you will have to press the button, hold it down, then press the second button.

Since you never released the first button, the CPU only registered one key press.
This method may seem complex at first, but if you have mastered the push-release technique then you will have no difficulty with it.
